As many of you might have heard the alcohol ban (no local sales of alcohol including wine) was reinstated in South Africa nearly two weeks ago and the results are catastrophic!
Businesses have been forced to close due to this ban with staggering job losses affecting thousands of people and their families especially in the wine industry.
Export of wine is still allowed and the industry in South Africa has started an initiative called #drinksouthafrican to encourage the world to support them in this time of need by buying and drinking some South African wine in support of them, their employees and their families. Through this #jobssavelives was born to acknowledge the workers in the wine and hospitality industry currently not being able to support their families due to this ban.
