LAPA CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Grape Variety : Cabernet Sauvignon 

Appearance : Dark Opaque  Aroma : A complex aroma with prominent notes of cassis and cedar wood.

This is backed up with a combination of blackberries, raspberries, hints of spice and pencil shaving which is haracteristic to Cabernet Sauvignon from the Helderberg region. 

Palate : A well-integrated wine, with subtle tannins and juicy mouth feel. The dark fruit shows exceptional follow through, and the wine has great structure, and a long lingering finish. Impression : “Jean Engelbrecht’s appreciation for Napa Styled Cabernet Sauvignons is the inspiration behind this wine. It will develop and mature beautifully over the next few years.”

FRONTIER

Appearance: Bright Ruby Red 
Aroma: Superb red fruit aromas of raspberry and plum are supported with hints of black cherry and cedar

Palate: The ripe red fruit from the nose comes to the fore on the palate. There is a subtle fynbos undertone that backs up the medium to full mouthfeel.

This wine has a nice firm structure, with a lengthy red fruit finish.

Impression : “The three varietals each contribute unique flavours and character to the wine to make this a wonderful drinking experience. The wine will mature and soften beautifully over the next 5 years.”

MERLOT

Appearance : Ruby red 

Bouquet : Clean fresh aromas of red fruit with hints of chocolate. 

Palate : Plum and red berry flavours filter through on the palate with a long, elegant finish. 

Impression : “This intense, fruit-driven example of a South African Merlot was made for early enjoyment and will improve over the next 2 to 3 years.”
