In 1994, the year was hot, and when picking for a Cap Classique, we could not pick fast enough – the sugar was too high and a plan was foiled. The hopes of Founder Achim von Arnim were low but in the glass, magic happened – serendipity emerged.
Passion was affirmed, and the iconic blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir was born, the blend that nobody had heard of in a still wine. They tasted it, they experienced joy and they fell in love. We are extremely proud to have introduced South Africa to this blend.
Enjoy fresh citrus flavours underpinned by white peach and red fruit, with balanced acidity which works well in food and wine pairings.
60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir Haute Cabriere appears to ‘own’ the magic of blending these two noble cultivars, with Chardonnay contributing elegance and Pinot Noir intensity.
Combined in perfect proportion, these cultivars create this appealing taste experience which everybody loves.
This wine was blended in the same style as the 2009 vintage, yet the lively fruit and balance of the 2010 vintage are even more enticing than ever before…
Refined and elegant, with a firm acidity in the background.
Recommended pairings are fish, chicken and Mediterranean cuisine. Alc: 12.5% RS: 8.0g/l TA 6.5g/l
